A decade ago, we started with a very loose idea of building a spectacles company for people who want to wear spectacles.

I’m pleased to say that hasn’t changed.

I love spectacles even more now than I did a decade ago. Seeing first hand how they can improve someone’s life is lovely. The times when our brilliant optometrists have literally saved lives have been humbling.

Most rewarding has been meeting so many human beings, with all their contradictions, complexity and brilliance. I’m blessed to have such talented and inspiring colleagues, some who have become my closest friends.

We’re lucky to count many hilarious and fascinating people as customers.

As I write this, I’m struggling to read it back - I’m due an eye test. But there’s something poetic about entering the next decade of Cubitts as a presbyope.

Ten years in, my beard is greyer, my skin is thicker, and my cornea is harder. But I’ve never been more excited about the future, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Thank you for your support over the last ten years - without which, we simply wouldn't exist. And onwards to the next ten.

Love,
Tom
