Sun, sea, and spectacles.

Situated in the bohemian environs of the North Laine, Cubitts Brighton is an homage to the Great British seaside; a mix of bucket-and-spade nostalgia and sleek geometry. Art Deco details reflect the city’s architecture. The windows are bathed in a suitably oceanic shade, in a completely recycled material made by Smile Plastics, while the concrete floor has been painted a vivid shade of yellow to contrast the sunlit interior.
The material palette of muted blue walls, geometric aluminium shelving, and cherry wood cabinets were inspired by photographs from Martin Parr’s iconic series The Last Resort, an intimate portrait of everyday life by the seaside in 1980s Britain, while subtle nods to Art Deco reflect Brighton’s distinctive architecture.
Furnishings embrace a love of mid-century design, with original Joe Colombo pieces, a Panthella lamp by Verner Panton and classic tubular steel sling chairs by Rodney Kinsman for OMK.

Bespoke at Cubitts Brighton.

Cubitts Brighton is home to its own collection of frames, including Arundel, a 1940s round oval lens in an upswept silhouette inspired by the Art Deco architecture of Brighton’s Saltdean Lido, and Stein, a 1930s round-eye drawing on the floorplan for the Royal Pavilion.

These frames are available exclusively from Brighton, made to measure in one of over 130 colours through our Bespoke service.
