Residing in the Victorian brick arches of Bagley Walk, the design of our Coal Drops Yard store pays homage to the functional style of Cubitts’ namesake, architect Lewis Cubitt. A clean, timeless design referencing the Lewis Cubitt principles. incorporating a simple and pared back interior with entirely bespoke furnishings. Painted in a dark brunswick green inspired by The Flying Scotsman, a nod to Kings Cross station as a rail hub.

Our stores have their own collection of bespoke, made-to-order frames, offered in 140 acetate colours or ethically-sourced water buffalo horn. Available exclusively at this location is The Coal Drops Yard Collection, which consists of four frames inspired by influential figures from King's Cross history. Featuring the lunettes of the Kings Cross windows to the spears of Boudica and her army (rumoered to be buried underneath Kings Cross station)

Design Notes

Residing in the Victorian brick arches of Bagley Walk, the design of our Coal Drops Yard store pays homage to the functional style of Cubitts’ namesake, architect Lewis Cubitt. Cascading plants fill the store, celebrating the renewal and rejuvenation of the King’s Cross area. A hydroponic system is a nod to water's enduring role in the area - the Spa Fields, the lost River Fleet, and the Regent's Canal.
