World Homeless Day
To mark World Homeless Day on October 10th, Cubitts partnered with New Horizon Youth Centre on their King’s Cross vs. Youth Homelessness initiative, offering free eye examinations and prescription spectacles to local young people affected by homelessness, 35% of which are still in work or education while homeless.
The activity ran for ten days in our Coal Drops Yard store, with twenty young people welcomed through our doors to receive complimentary eye care and prescription spectacles.
‘As a company born and bred in King’s Cross, Cubitts are all too aware of the extent of homelessness in central London, and the hardships that those affected by it face. While the streets of King’s Cross have been an endless source of inspiration for us, the realities of sleeping rough on those streets are extremely harsh. We believe a good pair of spectacles should be a right not a privilege, and are keen to do our small bit for some of our young neighbours'
