Calshot is named after Calshot Street, which connects the bustling Pentonville Road with the Regent’s Canal in King’s Cross, London. A part of Pentonville, one of London’s earliest planned suburbs, its past residents have included Thomas Carlyle and Joseph Grimaldi. The street is now home to London’s oldest Model Railway Club, established in 1910, members of which still meet in their Calshot Street clubrooms every Thursday.
