We are a modern spectacles company founded in King’s Cross, London in 2013. By combining traditional frame craft with modern methods, we hope to revive Britain’s long lost optical legacy.

Our mission is this. To make the finest spectacles we can. To make the process of buying prescription frames enjoyable, engaging and informative. To be fair, open and honest with our customers. To use the best of modern technology, and continually reinvest to help us achieve our goals.

We currently have seven stores in London, with more on the way and ambitious plans for the future. We’re looking for exceptional people to join us as we put these plans into practice.

STORE OPPORTUNITIES

Senior Associate - Cubitts City - Part and Full Time

We are looking for full-time and part-time Senior Associates to be based at our new City of London store, launching this Autumn. You’ll be looking to further your optical experience in this customer-focused role, fine-tuning your dispensing skills whilst gaining an in-depth product knowledge.

The role:

  • Responsible for ensuring completion of daily tasks, and helping to meet our targets
  • Maintaining and delivering an excellent Customer Experience
  • Lead by example to effectively manage sales, deal with enquiries and managing our patient booking system
  • To dispense our products to consistently high standards, excelling at fitting frames, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge, and giving expert style advice
  • To comfortably explain eye health, eyewear and prescription terminology to patients (full training will be given)
  • Ensure the retail environment is flawlessly run, including taking responsibility for visual merchandising and all housekeeping
  • To act as a representative for our brand to help educate and excite others about the Cubitts mission and company story
  • Support your colleagues and, in turn, further your development

Who you are:

  • Our ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year’s experience in an optical role and be looking to further their expertise

Optical Associate - Cubitts City - Part and Full Time

The role:

  • Consistently deliver an excellent Customer Experience
  • Manage sales, deal with enquiries, book in and assist eye test patients
  • To dispense our products to consistently high standards, excelling at fitting frames, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and giving expert style advice
  • Ensure the retail environment is flawlessly run, including taking responsibility for visual merchandising and housekeeping
  • To act as a representative for our brand to help educate and excite others about the Cubitts mission and company story
  • To comfortably explain eye health, eyewear and prescription terminology to patients (full training will be given)
  • Proactively drive your own training and development by attending regular training workshops on dispensing, repairs, fitting and adjustments
  • Support the management of stock and keeping everything in a tidy and organised manner

Who you are:

  • Previous retail experience is essential, and optical experience a bonus, although genuine interest is most important
  • You’re comfortable in a busy environment and take pride in what you do
  • You show great initiative, positivity and patience

Resident Optometrist - Various - Part and Full Time

We are seeking full-time and part-time Optometrists to be based at our new London practice. You will be providing outstanding clinical care, and the highest calibre of eye examinations to our patients.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

PR and Relationships Officer - HQ, London - Full Time

We are looking for a confident, driven, and creative person to fill the newly created role of Cubitts PR and Relationships Officer.

We want someone who will make this role their own, with plenty of innovative ideas and a host of existing industry contacts and relationships to bring to the table.

You’ll work across the business, helping us to tell stories around everything from new product launches and collaborations to store launches and charity projects. 

This role would suit someone with existing PR experience, a keen interest in craft, and lots of ambition who is excited about the Cubitts brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, build and maintain excellent relationships with senior members of the fashion, design, and national press (with a specific focus on digital outlets), as well as bloggers and influential people where relevant

  • Work with the marketing team to create and implement a structured PR strategy across product launches, campaigns, and new store openings

  • Increase digital and print coverage of Cubitts’ products, collaborations, and our other wildly varied projects

  • Work with the retail team and with external area PR agencies to drive coverage for individual Cubitts’ stores

  • Write and distribute press releases on all Cubitts campaigns and launches

  • Represent Cubitts at industry events

  • Work with the marketing team to orchestrate events and drive press attendance and interest

  • Oversee any press gifting and take responsibility for all press loans

  • Compile monthly press coverage reports in addition to reporting on all key initiatives and events


About you:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, either in-house or with an agency

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a nose for a good story

  • Strong existing press contacts and relationships

  • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage several projects at once

  • Experience of using insights and data to learn and improve strategy

  • Able to manage a budget

  • Highly organised self-starter with exceptional attention to detail

Retail Coordinator - HQ, London - Full Time

As Retail Support at Cubitts you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the retail stores. You will be the key contact for the store teams, handling queries and solving issues efficiently and effectively. Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee communications to store and be responsible for reviewing and revising in-store processes to improve store operations. 

This role will help to support the Head of Retail and Retail Operations Manager with the execution of the retail strategy.

 

The role:

  •  Supporting retail teams - Working collaboratively with the store teams and HQ functions to help problem solve any issues efficiently and within budget. This includes being the main liaison for any maintenance, H&S, IT issues and store development
  • Retail communications - Alongside the Retail Operations Manager, helping with weekly communications to store, ensuring engaging, consistent and clear messaging is delivered at the right time. This includes managing the weekly retail operations newsletter and product knowledge training
  • Arranging training sessions - Working with line managers to ensure the attendance and tracking of weekly training session, induction training, and organising the training calendar for upcoming sessions
  • Retail calendar - Ensuring that the retail commercial calendar is kept up to date with key dates and information
  • Clinic calendar management - Coordination of locums and residents to manage the booking system as well as being the key point of contact ensuring that queries are handled efficiently and diligently. Ensuring set up for new locums and guidelines communicated
  • Equipment inventory management - Supporting with the ordering and mobility of store equipment, ensuring that stores have the right materials to support day to day functionality, product launches and store events
  • Project support - Supporting the Retail Operations Manager with the management and execution of various retail projects. This may include product launches, content and assets needed. Ensure company procedures are followed to protect inventory, assets, and above all, colleague safety
  • Supporting Head of Retail with administrative tasks - Assisting with the building of presentations and commercial reports 
  • Store openings - Supporting the Head of Retail and Retail Operations Manager in the execution of tasks within the critical path, ensuring new stores open on time and within budget.

  • You have a hands-on approach and aren't afraid of getting your hands dirty

This position is full-time, therefore you must be available to work for 40 hours per week. The role is Monday - Friday, but weekend working may be required depending on the business needs. 

This role will be reviewed after three months of being in effect to determine how the responsibilities of the role are being managed and delivered.
